Voter registration

So, how come voter registration is even necessary?

It seems like we have the technology to do away with it.

Nationwide, if you want to vote, you bring proof of age/citizenship/whatever, and when you vote, you leave a one-way hash of some unique biometric marker (dna sample, retinal scan, etc…) that’s compared against the database of people who have voted before, and if you’re not in it, you get to cast your vote.

What do you think?
